Cummins X10 Engine Integration – Dealer Certification Requirements

As previously shared with the Dealer Council and communicated in earlier broadcasts, beginning in 2027, Mack Trucks will integrate the Cummins X10 engine into select vehicle models. This change requires all Mack dealer locations to be certified with Cummins for service and support of the X10 engine.

Background: Cummins X10 Integration
The integration of the Cummins X10 engine is based on the need to meet upcoming emissions regulations, improve fuel efficiency, and maintain reliability across the fleet. The X10 engine offers updated technology that aligns with these requirements. This decision follows a review of market regulations, product performance standards, and customer operational needs.

Certification Requirement
All dealers must complete Cummins certification at the full-service level to service the X10 engine. Cummins will contact each dealer directly with information about the requirements, including the level of investment needed for certification. These requirements will differ depending on each dealer’s current certification status and facility capabilities.

Further Communication
Cummins will provide further guidance on certification, investment, and timelines directly to dealers. Dealers are advised to review these communications promptly upon receipt and prepare for the necessary steps to complete certification.
